SPRING ISSUE OF TRAVEL + CULTURE MAGAZINE
CELEBRATES ST. PATRICK'S DAY AND TRAVEL TO IRELAND

Travel & Culture Spring 2022(BOSTON) -- The Spring 2022 issue of Travel & Culture Magazine is being released today by the Boston Irish Tourism Association, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day festivities, spring in New England and travel to Ireland.

The free magazine is available at visitor centers and cultural venues in greater Boston and throughout New England, or in digital format online.

The St. Patrick’s Day roundup includes the season’s best Irish concerts, including Celtic Woman, the Irish Tenors and Máiréad Nesbitt, Danú and Téada, plus a schedule of Irish parades in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Profiles in this issue include U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Claire Cronin, USS Constitution Commander Billie Farrell and Boston City Council President Ed Flynn, plus a feature on Bridget’s - An Irish Tradition gift shop.

The distinct Irish heritage of Newport RI is featured, and so is the upcoming Dine Out Boston on March 13-26, offering restaurant deals at 100+ eateries around Boston. Three book reviews focus on Irish poetry, County Clare and the Kennedy family.

A walking map of Boston’s Irish Heritage Trail is included along with descriptions of 20 downtown landmarks for self-guided tours through 300 years of Boston Irish history.

The Ireland section has the most recent news on Aer Lingus, including its 2022 schedule from Boston’s Logan International Airport to Dublin and Shannon and other parts of Europe. This year, the City of Dublin marks the centenary of the masterpiece Ulysses by writer James Joyce, while the City of Belfast celebrates its new designation as a UNESCO City of Music.  A story on family history research provides tips on where to look for your ancestors while having fun along the way.

BITA is celebrating its 22nd anniversary as a year-round, cultural tourism organization that promotes the state’s largest ethnic community.  It publishes three annual issues of Travel & Culture each March, June and November.
